I am not ill often, but when I am, I take the opportunity to fall into a state of deep rest. I slow down my thoughts, my movements, what I do in the day, to a speed in which I can notice the emotional stirrings within me. I notice the good feelings that warm me like a fire and use those to help me heal, and I notice the feelings causing me tension and blocking my desires in everyday life, and I release them. It is usually very difficult to slow down this much when I am well, but because of how much I benefit from this, I've been practicing this when I'm well to keep me balanced.

You are speaking my language!!! For years, I studied nutrition, and I am a mind-body nutrition coach. But years ago, I decided that you can’t pump yourself full of supplements and get well until you deal with the mind and the emotional issues!!! That’s where you begin! “The body lives downstream of the soul!” If we were just receptacles of supplements, we could possibly get well, but we are also made of emotions and memories and are affected by our environment whether it be people or TV, etc., anything that stresses you or leaves you in a negative place mentally. We are not robots. Thank you so much for this talk you are a natural as a life coach! 😊❤️

AMEN!!!! When you said you want to be a role model to boys I got excited because I wholeheartedly agree with you that there needs to be more male guidance and role models! Boys are being stripped of their masculinity and being pushed into feminizing. Men and women are different creatures and I personally have been wishing from the bottom of my heart to see more men step up and be who they naturally are meant to be. Thank you so much for being straightforward! I also think you would be a great life coach. I am a life coach/mind/body. I naturally gravitated to this area, but I took training through the Institute for the psychology of Eating. Founder Marc David. It has been a perfect fit for me. I’ve loved the study of Nutrition but above that I have been passionate about the mind and heart issues and this training blew my mind! People that come to you think it’s about food and losing weight, etc.. But it is about the mind, the heart, the soul, because all of that affects everything you put into your mouth and the way you think and unresolved issues that affect the health of the body. One of Marc David’s quotes “The body lives downstream of the soul (heart, mind, will, emotions)”. This is a quote that I live with and is forever attached to my mind and heart. It is what drives me. It’s easy to see that you are made to be a life coach! I have received some needed coaching, and I have greatly benefited from listening to you. Thank you and please continue. 😊❤

JAMES, did you have CFS or AFS? I know many of the symptoms are similar but I want to thank you for your straightforward advice for AFS. I think it will help me to change some things in my recovery from AFS. not many people understand AFS and the medical community doesn’t recognize it most of the time. It is very miserable because it changes your whole life. And you really can’t explain it to people very well and so you have to live with being misunderstood about why you aren’t more involved like it used to be. It requires extreme patience for recovery. Again thank you so much. You are helping very many people to be encouraged. That recovery is definitely possible.

I can tell that we both have a very similar mindset, one I only recently adopted after my health took a turn and I realised I had some serious changes to make. This video really resonates with me and put into words what I've been thinking about. I've watched a few of your other videos too and you feel like a breath of fresh air, like somebody finally gets it, and it gives me a lot of hope. My CFS is the worst it's been for the last two years I've had it, and I'm not going to let it get any worse. Hi James, I have been struggling with agoraphobia and social anxiety for years. My issue is that I live with my parents in a building with doormen. This makes it much harder to go outside because the doormen know I don’t have a job and live at home. This makes my fear of going out stronger. The longer I stay inside the more embarrassing it is to go out, because they know I’ve just been inside for weeks. It’s a cycle I’m having a hard time breaking out of. What should I do?

Great vid. I've come to the conclusion that to heal from a lot of things like CFS mindset is more important than diet. So a dramatic example would be if I had to pick between a healthy mind with a bad diet or a bad mind with a healthy diet, I'd go for the first. Obviously the best is to have healthy mind and healthy diet, but often when people do these diets it leads them to completely forget about the mind or not realise its importance, or to hyperfocus on on being perfect which is essentially putting yourself in a mild form of fight or flight.

I absolutely love and agree with every word you have said here. I have been dealing with advanced adrenal fatigue for about six years. I’ve been getting coaching for almost 2 years. This includes lifestyle, change and nutritional supplements and having a good diet. But my primary mantra is “mindset, and environment are the most powerful elements of all of this.” I feel like people think I’m too radical about this, but I am 1000% convinced that this is what has to change first and we have to stay on top of it and stay committed to our own recovery. I also firmly believe that if we don’t take care of the mind and heart issues, we will need to take more supplements because of the stress we have allowed to remain in our bodies. I’ve often said that we can pump ourselves full of all kinds of nutritional supplements, but until we deal with the heart and mind issues, it’s not going to solve our situation. I have always loved the study of nutrition, and I am actually a mind-body nutrition coach. And I believe strongly in this order, it is the mind first then the body. I’m at a place right now where I’m having to seriously consider all the supplements I’m taking because I am thinking that they are actually part of the stress that’s keeping me from making progress Because I am so fatigued that I really don’t wanna have to sort them out and make sure I take them on time, etc. but I don’t want to be impulsive. But I’m getting very close to that. There’s a wonderful quote from Marc David “ the body lives downstream of the soul (mind, will, emotions)”. I couldn’t believe this more. I pray for wisdom for all of us and making decisions for our full recovery. Love to everyone on your journey. ❤️🇺🇸

If you haven’t already, would you consider making a future video on what a typical day or week looked liked during your recovery, how you filled your time as you tried to stay away from excess stimulation and just an overall explanation on the variety of food you ate throughout the day. My levels of fatigue fluctuate between tolerable to absolutely exhausted. Curious to hear what you did on your really bad days, did you just eat and lie in bed or did you try to do something else as well? All the best,

James have you tried being more grateful? It is simple and overlooked. But think about it right. If you are grateful, then you wouldn't be doing all this thinking. Like my future, this and that. Where you are at. You also won't pursue material things as much. Being ungrateful however usually destroys things rather than making them better. I think a lot of people, me included, have secretly been ungrateful and negative in the past and that is when you start all this worrying and overthinking. Try to be more present as well. Where you are at this moment is where you are at, that simple, and where we are going is none of our concern. Let it unfold.
